Network

1. Does Ubiq require an Ethernet connection to the network or can we use WiFi?

Ubiq doesn't require an Ethernet connect to the network. You can connect the Ubiq Hive to your WiFi.

2. Does Ubiq support multiple subnets?

Yes, it works across multiple subnets. As long as two devices in different subnets can talk over UDP, HTTP (which almost all subnets allow), it should work.

3. Does Ubiq support multiple networks?

The Ubiq Hive support multiple networks (Corporate and/or Guest). The Ubiq Hive has two physical NICs (Ethernet and 1 WiFi Chip). The Ethernet would be for the corporate network and the WiFi would be connected to the Guest network.

4. Would the cloud create a lot of latency for local use?

The cloud dashboard is only for management of the devices. The presentation is done over the local network.

5. How can I optimize my network for low latency?

Latency could happen due to the network (ex. which AP it's connect to, etc). You could run a packet trace on your network controller and see if there are any dropped/delayed packets when presenting to that device. Media data is sent over UDP ports (50,000-50,009 - one ports need to be available in this range). If you notice high packet loss/delayed packets it could be due to a few reasons. Some obvious ones are QoS and priority for UDP media on your network.
